Default Star clutch from Speed Inc.

Does anyone know what the Stage 1 or 2 Spec clutches from Speed Inc include. Do they come with the throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and all that good stuff? If i order the clutch, and the updated hydraulics, and new flywheel, What else will i need? Thanks again.

What mods do you have that you are getting the stage 3 for? My car is all stock but i will soon be getting headers, exhaust, gears, lid/filter and a few other bolt on's. But someone help us out and let us know what these clutches come with.

i emailed them couple of months ago and i was told that the updated hydraulics included a new 2001 master, slave, and throwout bearing but no pilot. The clutch only comes with pressure plate and clutch disk. The flywheel is sepreate.

Is it necessary to replace the pilot bearing? My car has 60,000 miles on it.

Smart i highly suggest that you change the pilot also its only like 15$ more.

2002_ws6 --its depends what year you have 98-00 need the udated hydrualics to work spec clutch --if you have the 01-02 --then i guess you can get away with just the clutch and the flywheel --if you have a lot of miles on your 01-02 then i suggest you get the updated hydraulics as well. hope that helps

Why don't you call them. They are one of the few sponsors with a toll free #.

I would change the pilot bearing, any auto parts store has them. The price range is like $5-$18.

Check this thread for pricing on SPEC.

Thanks for the response

Whats "a lot of miles" ? I have 24,000 miles.

Would I need pilot bearings too?

I WOULD replace the pilot if I were you. It keeps you from having to do pull the tranny again later. They are cheap enough just to do it during the clutch install.

Hey I just put in my Spec stage III it comes with a pilot bearing and throwout bearing in the kit. The updated hydraulics also comes with a throwout bearing so you will end up with an extra throwout bearing. The updated hydraulics are also pre bled so you don't have to worry about bench bleeding them. My car is still out of commision though the updated master that was sent to me was leaking were the hose from the resovoir went into the master. I called speed inc and they sent me a new one and I sent the broken one back, the new one should be here tomorrow. If you are planning on installing this yourself plan on plenty of time to do it. I've installed many clutches before on mustangs and other vehicles and this one seems to be the most time consuming. Also speed inc has great customer service I've purchased pretty much everything in my sig from them and have no complaints. Oh, and smartass I would go ahead and get the stage III better now rather than having to tear the car down again to change it later. Good Luck Jessie
