Default Need Help w/trans

I need you guys help. I have a 2000 6spd. the transmission is acting funny. When i accelerate the car revs up but it doesnt really start to go any where after a couple of seconds. I can smell the clutch and then it starts to speed up. I dont think its the trans and it doesnt make sense if its the actual clutch itself cause it does it if I dont even press the clutch in. Any help would be great.

So it moves with the clutch depressed? Sounds like your clutch is hanging either from worn fingers on the pressure plate, pedal adjustment, etc. Probably the cause of why it slips when in gear.

So if I Just replace the clutch should i be ok. I figured the clutch was hanging but not sure if there was anything else that may be wrong. If im going to drop the trans to mess with anything i rather take care of it all. Unless i can fix it with out dropping the tranny
