1-2 T56 billet key springs
#4
Who has modded the C5 billet 1-2 keys to work in the F-body 1-2 synchro?
I ground the 2 bumps (and a tiny bit more) off the inside hub-side face of each key. Nothing else.
Assembling an F-body box; no 1-2.
Does anything need done to the slider side bump?
How about at the slider side shoulders? That seems the biggest different from the general shape of a stock stamped F-body 1-2 key.

85MikeTPI - Have you used these springs before? I finally upgraded to the billet keys this time around and used the same kit you had above. It seemed the the springs were a little long and did not sit firmly against the middle key. It may not be a problem when the blocker rings are installed. Just wondering.

I didn't have to touch the centering bump. Everything was test fit before assembly.

I just got the billet keys and springs. The spring ends (hooks) do not sit like yours do in this pic. Mine are longer, therefor the one end hooks onto the billet key and the other end (hook) falls in between the other 2 keys. Is this correct?
Also, are the springs supposed to be installed as a mirror image or should they be staggered?

You should stagger the springs on both sides of the synchro, so the spring gaps should not be between the same two keys.
