T56 can't shift into 1,3,5,6, or Reverse
I just put in my trans and I can't get into to any of these gears. I can get into 2nd and 4th. I have searched on this topic and am waiting to hear back from the guy who was having the same problem, but he never posted a fix. I am going to bleed the clutch again, but I am thinking that it is something other the hydraulics. The clutch, slave, master, and pilot bearing are all new.
Any help on this would be great!

Have you tried to shift it into gear when the car is off? If it goes in fine when the car is off and you didnt remove the solendoids then you need to check your clutch, Assuming you replaced your pilot bearing. If you also know how to put in the clutch and know that you didnt put the clutch disk in backwards then I would look into your hydrolics.

Going to check out the skip shift deal. I broke down the whole trans and I don't really see anything out of wack. Even the pad on the shift forks look good. If it is just the skip shift being a bitch I am going to be pissed!

The skip shift solenoid is located on the main case and has a white plastiv connector. The reverse inhibitor solenoid is on the extension casting and has a black plastic connector. Both connectors are identical other than color. Both solenoids are identical-looking as well, but they are oposite-acting. The skip extends with power , the reverse retracts with power.

So found out that the 2 soleniods don't have power to them when the car is on. So I got rid of the reverse lockout spring and will unplunge the skip shift. I am running this in a 240sx, so I don't plan on get past 5th gear. Which is good becuase as you will see in the picks 6th gear look beat up from a fork bushing going bad. Also anybody that knows about sync's can you watch the vid and let me know what you think. I am not sure what a syncro is suppost to slide like, so any help would be great.

you must have a shifter problem.
the syncros may, or may not be any good, the wear area's arent visible, but in pic 3 I see the shift teeth on that gear are pretty bad - you could dress em up a little.
I'm no t-56 pro, but I really think your problem is in the internal rail shifter.

Pic 3 shows the 6th clutch teeth are beyond repair...a new drive gear and sychro will be needed. As far as the shift probs go, are you sure you got the two case bolts that guide the linkage ( on the top of the case) in the correct position? If they are out of the grooves , the linkage will not work correctly.

so i think figured out the problem. the ******* that sold me the trans put a GTO offset lever in it and its throwing everything off. ordered a new one. I'm pretty sure this will fix the problem.

Not really that bad at to rebuild and all you need is a puller, press, a couple of bolts, washers, and some PVC pipe.
Pretty sure I figured out the problem. The ******* who should me the trans put a GTO shift lever in it.
The GTO is on the right f-body on the left, so I know why it wouldn't get into those gears! Not enough throw!
