Default t56 issues

Recently picked up a 00 z28 with t56.

Car will go into all gears fine, but in first or reverse as soon as you give it any gas there is a loud grinding / metal sound, I can feel through the shifter.

Do you think its a clutch issue?

checked fluid level and it is full does not look dark.

Sometimes if i really ease slowly off clutch with a tiny bit of gas it won't do it, but with any amount of gas there is the noise.

any help appreciated.

Even if its not grinding when its going into gear?

I can go into any gear fine with no grinding, only after a little bit of throttle and moving I get a loud noise / grinding. It seems only to happen in first and reverse after about a 1/4 throttle and rolling then the noise happens.

Ah I misread your post.

I'd say your clutch is dragging, causing late engagement.

If its such a hard grind, I'm not sure I'd continue to drive the car. My 1st gear syncro was missing all its teeth when we rebuilt it. Not to worry you, as I may be wrong, but I'd say its definitely something to worry about. I started out like that and now my whole life is a mess.
