thinking of going backwards with a bellhousing
i swapped in a ls1 into my miata. at the time i couldn't find a stock bellhousing for sale, so i bought a McLeod sfi ls1/t56 bellhousing. i also ordered a tremic t56 magnum. well the car is running awesome now but i'm looking for areas to shed weight i know the stock bellhousing is made out of aluminum and this sfi scatter shield is made of allot of steel. i'm not planning on running any more then 425hp and not drag racing so it's a bit of over kill for my setup. i'm wondering if the tremic magnum will bolt to a stock bell housing? if it does would anyone with big hp plans be interested in trading for a little bit of money? i'm located in north west Chicago area.

Yes a stock one will work but I would keep what you have. The weight difference isn't going to make that much difference. A stock bell is about 12-15 lbs. Yours is probably about 30lbs.

sorry to bring up an old thread, but which stock housings work? Are there any stock housings (WITHOUT ADAPTERS) that would work on a traditional sbc/bbc as well for the magnum?

stock one would work but imo i would stick with the one i have. If you are looking for weight lose im sure theres a few other places to drop that much. No need to go backwards unless it's a need to.. IMO
