forgot to clean flywheel/clutch before install
i was in such a hurry to get the car done and on the road that i forgot to spray the clutch and flywheel with brake cleaner. is there anyway to clean this without removing the tranny? will this hurt it if i dont?

If you have an organic, Kevlar, or other similar disc material then you need to clean everything to insure proper operation, capacity, and durability. Heat is not a cure all...unfortunately!

The flywheel/pressure plate have a coating of oil on them to prevent rust and I have no idea how much grease you could have gotten on them during assembly. Heat will not burn it all off and not having a clean surface will cause a clutch to chatter if you've already driven on it.

Most clutches and flywheels have this coating but since we don't know what parts he is using it is hard to know for sure. Either way, as stated, the parts should have been cleaned initially. All that can be done now is remove them and clean them.
