Issues Shifting Into 3rd Gear - McLeod Twin Disk with Tick MC
Ok, so I think I'm finally past the leaky slave issues, however now I'm having a seemingly small but irritating issue that I'm trying to figure out. During normal driving, I'm able to shift through all gears with no issues. At the track though I'm not able to shift into 3rd gear at high RPM reliably. Last weekend, out of five total passes I was only able to hit 3rd gear twice. There's no grinding or anything. I simply cannot put the shifter into 3rd like it's blocked. The pedal feels normal as well.
I have a McLeod Twin Disk, McLeod 1300 series slave with a #1 piston and a .220" spacer and a Tick Adjustable MC. I followed the instructions from Tick on adjusting the pedal and verified the piston travel on the slave with each adjustment. Piston travel is 0.375-0.4375. Air gap on the clutch discs is .055. All within spec.
Here's a recap of my passes:
#1 - Staged with 2-step at 6200 RPM. With the clutch pedal to the floor, the car started inching forward on the line. Hit 1st and 2nd but could not hit 3rd. Went back to the pits and added a 1/2 turn of travel to the MC.
#2 - Staged with 2-step at 6200 RPM. The car did not inch forward at the line but I still could not hit 3rd. Went back to the pits and added a 1/2 turn of travel to the MC.
#3 - Staged with 2-step at 6200 RPM. Clean pass. Hit all 4 gears.
#4 - Staged with 2-step at 6200 RPM. Clean pass. Hit all 4 gears but was short shifting to watch AFR and fuel with nitrous.
#5 - Staged with 2-step at 6200 RPM. Could not hit 3rd. Unfortunately, this was an elimination round and consequently my last pass.
Do I simply need a little more pedal travel to overcome the force of the pressure plate against the bearing or is there a larger issue here? I'm trying to be careful not to over-extend the piston per McLeod's instructions.
TIA for any advice.
Kyle

Sounds worked out, great. Maybe Billy can confirm that your clutch need about .500 for disengagement?? Looks like were at about .350 with your original setup. Nice ride by the way!

Thanks! I haven't re-measured the piston travel yet but my best guess would lead me to believe it is very close to .500 based on the previous measurements between 0.375-0.4375.
