if you are on a stock 10 bolt, Id worry about that before the trans.. I made 540whp and killed it all day long on the street.. put on a set of slicks and went through 2 rears.. replaced the clutch twice but trans held up fine.. was a dd too... like other said.. depends on what you do with it.. however, if you're replacing it as often as you are... find someone else to build it....

Sounds like maybe bad hydraulics or someone cant drive a stick. No good reason why a T56 goes out that often, especially under stock power.

It sounds to me like you have a clutch disengaugement problem or a failed pilot bearing. The synchros really have nothing to do with the power holding capacity of the transmission. The gearset itself, mainly the input and cluster gear are what take the brunt of the power. As long as it is well lubricated (IE: Direct input oil return/spray bar) will handle 700ftlbs fairly reliably.
If you are knocking the sliders and blocking rings out of the trans then you need to check for hydraulic issues or keep an eye on your driving style.
