Default so did monster ever resolve the chattering/squeal

I was going to order one tonight either a lever 2 or 3 for my dd but keep reading about chatter and squeals. I also read they were resolving this so is the new design any better?

The new Kevlar lvl 2 is supposed to be butter smooth/very easy to drive and still holds 500rwhp easy. I'm having one installed in the morning w/18lb flywheel, I'll let you know how it is!

I recently ordered a stage 2 monster. I got it on the 9th and installed same day. I didn't need a shim. The pedal is slightly stiffer than a stock LS6 clutch and it engages like stock at the top of the throw. I've only put about 200miles on it and still breaking it in but I haven't had any squealing or chatter.

Just wondering, did your stage 2 come with the Kevlar disc (fuzzy, light brown), or the organic disc (grey)? Mine (got it about a week ago) came with the Kevlar, but I've seen a total of 3 different types.

SIC GTO, how is your new level 2 working out?

It drives pretty much like stock, the pedal is a tad stiffer. The pedal is also a little shorter/quicker to engage and it definetly grabs! I can't beat on it yet of course because I only have about 50 miles on it, but I'll let y'all know when I start beating on it.

The main reason I asked about yours is because I am getting some chatter from my level 2 kevlar disc, and was wondering if you experienced any of that. I've got about a 150 miles on mine now. After talking with Monster though, it's likely because I greased the input shaft splines and flung grease on the disc.

I know my level 3 is right at a year old. I have a little over a 1000 miles on it and it makes zero noise. Main thing I had to get used to was the lighter flywheel and how grabby it is.

Depending on your power level and if it is a D/D, I would look at the Level 2. It is my understanding that the level 2 is very D/D friendly as it is easier to slip in stop/go traffic.

Yeah man mine hasn't made any noises, it's a lot more grabby then I expected. I can't even tell there's a lighter flywheel in it. It isnt hard to drive at all but it's more of what I expected a lvl3 would be like. It seems kIndia like on/off switch since pedal is so short, don't have to let out very far for it to start takin off.

I would like to get a lvl 2 over my LS7 clutch w/ light weight flywheel combo. I figured around the same hp rating but better quality, pedal feel, engagement and what not.

I'm likely going to replace my disc next weekend, making sure everything is spotless, and not putting grease on anything. I'll probably send it in to Monster for them to determine if it was contamination, a bad disc, etc. According to Monster, their Level 2 should not chatter at all, even during break-in. And from what I've read, many people have had good experiences with the Level 3. Basically, if you've done the install correctly (call Monster if you have any questions during the install), and something still isn't right (slim chance), you should be able to fall back on Monster.

Our Level 2's should never chatter with a good install and break in. Same really goes for the 3, the only thing that will make a 3 squeal/chatter is if you slip it excessively and it builds a glaze on the disc. This can often times be "removed" by some brief abuse, then adjust your driving habits and go on about your business.

Our Level 2's are a great product, that should provide tens of thousands of miles of great, reliable service without squealing or chattering at all. We've got numerous guys going high 10's in our 2's, low 10's in the 3's and both units have gone over 50k miles.

As always, if you guys have any questions call me directly, I'll go over anything you have over the phone.

That's what I got! And Monster says their clutches do not need a shim; I assume this means always. My new disc is on its way, so I'll let you know how that goes.

Feel free to ask me any questions...I'm not an expert, but I can tell you some things NOT to do, lol!

I have a level 2 with a little over 500 to the wheels and started getting chatter the first time at the track and still have it but the clutch still holds strong. Loud and always chatters but works perfect so I guess cant complain. LOL

Quick Reply: so did monster ever resolve the chattering/squeal
