Default Clutch Questions

I am I need of a new clutch and I have read tons of threads on here and I think the more I read, the more confused I think I am. It seems one person really likes a certain clutch and another hates it.
I have an 01 Camaro SS with 90k and it is basically stock. I am not intending to drag it, it's just a street car. I don't have a lot of funds to sink on the clutch at this time, but also don't want to buy a clutch I will be replacing in a year,
With all that being said, can anyone recommend a really good street clutch that will not break the bank. I would really like to get a kit (flywheel, slave, and all) if possible an try to keep it around $500. This may not be possible but would appreciate what ever help you offer.
I saw this used one on Ebay for $400 but I couldn't find any Specs for it.

for your car you do not want the SPEC 4+. That is a aggressive clutch.

A stock replacement type would be better for your modifications.

Thanks for the input guys. Where's the best cheapest place to pick up the LS7 kit?

I got a RhinoPac LS7 clutch kit from Rock Auto for $371.81 shipped. You can usually find a discount code on Google that cuts it down a bit.

I was thinking the same thing....LS7.

No plans to mod the engine for more power later? I would try and get an awesome clutch now. Its such a pain to swap it out if you ever change your goal.

I may do some bolt on mods, but no plans of anything else. If I decided to go with the LS7, aren't there some tricks to getting it right? Seems like I read about some issues on here if you didn't use the correct hydraulic setup. Is that correct?

badazz81z28, I would like to get a great Stage 2 clutch in my price range. I was looking at the Diamond clutches but they are a little out of my price range right now for the complete kit. I am looking at Competition as well but not sure what it would cost to get the complete kit.

Ls7 clutch should be enough for your plans.

I wouldn't suggest a Stage 4 kit for street use. That being said we offer 7 different single-disc options for this application. For a basic, effectively stock car, a Stage 1 would be a great option and it will provide more capacity than the stock unit or the LS7 unit. This is part number SC091. Give me a call if you have questions and I will be happy to assist you further. Thanks!

Thanks for all the help from Jeremy and everyone else. I ended up getting the Monster Stage 2. It was hard to pass up the sale that went through August. Only thing left to do is get a master cylinder and want a good one just cant afford a Tick. If anyone else knows the best one for a reasonable price, I'd appreciate it.
