What is the likelihood, that a transmission which was rebuilt, crated and shelved for a few years, of having the synchronizers oxidize and freeze up due to condensation forming inside the transmission?

It would depend on the quality of the rebuild. The friction linigs should have been coated with oil upon build. In that case, oxidation would not be a concern. Also , what kind of environment was it stored in. A shelf in a garage, out of the elements should not be a concern.
