Default Need opinion about my reverse gear

This is what the syncro sleeve looks like:

The other side of the syncro sleeve is brand new, so I can flip the syncro. But the problem is my gear. It looks like:

Looks like some rounding on the dog teeth. These are the worst looking dog teeth in the entire trans. Do you guys think I should replace the reverse gear?

I'd probably run that gear since it's just reverse. Flip the synchro around and put a new blocker ring on it and it'll be fine.

You can take a file to the teeth to at least get some semblance if a point. That's not a cheap gear. I had to replace mine. Someone had previously assembled the trans wrong and was too tight. Ate away at a $50 washer that should never need to be replaced.....

The engagement teeth on the gear is what wears them down that way. Look at the photo and you'll be able to see some wear on the points of the gear. That is the contact area.

I'm not talking about the points of the teeth. Something has made contact and been running below the teeth between the blocker ring surface and the teeth

That's the brass blocker ring that has worn too low causing it to rub on the gear.

Took a Dremel and "cleaned" the points up a bit with a small cutting disk. Like said before, being reverse I wouldnt get too anxious about it. Do the reverse fork mod while you're at it and it will be 100% smoother .
