Default thunking/popping sound when reversing, decelleration, and big bumps

This monday I swapped a 10 bolt out of my 99 Camaro for another 10 bolt and also replaced my dented driveshaft with a used good condition one, along with a new UMI adjustable torque arm. So I got everything back together, adjusted the new torque arm with my brother in the car to represent my weight, then took it for a test drive. The whole ride felt good, except my driveshaft making this thunking sound on every bump or when I decelerate. I saw on some 4x4 forum that the problem is that i dont have any grease or lube on the input shaft of the driveshaft/tranny connection. if this is the problem, what type of lube or grease is best for this?
all help is appreciated, thanks
p.s. the pinion angle is set at -1.4 degrees if that would cause anything
