Bronze shifter cup cause more noise?
Those of you that swapped to a bronze cup did you notice any more cabin noise at all? I'm running one now but I want the interior as quiet as possible. Would going back to plastic reduce the shifter noise? I'm running a pro 5.0.

Any metal to metal contact from the transmission to the shifter ball should increase cabin noise. So a plastic ball insert cup, proper sealant on the shifter housing and shifter boot(s), shifter arm gasket, and plastic insert/threads on the shifter ball will all help. Gasketing the metal to metal shifter parts is the most important thing. The factory did it pretty well. You can also place a few layers of insulating material inside your console around the shifter base/housing. I did all those things with my Hurst short throw and cut the cabin rattle down by about 50%.

No it's the thing that quiets it down, metal ***** for the shifter cups make more noise, It's why the MGW is more quiet than the pro 5.0. Shifter gasket just helps eliminate noise from the shifter. You could always rig up some dynamat or something if you have an extra hour when installing a shifter.
