Default Slave swap, then no pressure....

Installed a new GM perf parts slave and a Spec stage 1 Clutch this weekend...now I have NO pressure what so ever...is this normal when
you just put a new slave in? I did search but didn't find anything, everything is about master swap....

I just got done putting in a slave and all I had to do was pump the clutch a few times. All I did was the slave btw. The slave cyl's don't come pre bled. The first few pumps of the clutch will be to get fluid into it. You'll need to bleed the system to get it done right. You'll notice that your clutch won't be up to par till u bleed it.

I guess I have to bleed and get the clutch to work before I put everything back together, I thought that all I had to do was to pump the cltch a few times but no.....of course

There is no need to take it all apart. You can bleed the system from the slave bleed valve. BTW...did you use the shim on the new slave with the spec I ??

No, no shim, Don't think I need it, I have a stock flywheel that never
has been resurfaced. We are gonna try with a Mityvac tonight, wish me luck

Did your spec instructions say to use the shim? My stage 3 instr. said you have to use the shim regardless of turned or not/ stock or not.

I not 100% sure that this is the reason for your problems but you should have used the shim regardless. The reason is...The Spec clutches are thinner than most...this shim will make up the difference when the slave hits the PP.

Ok, I used the Mityvac, pressure is back! Thank God! Pumped it up to 25 psi's 3 times, LOT'S of air in the system! Installed everything back and fired it up
in first gear clutch down, car doesn't move...released the clutch slowly car starts to move...GREAT When I put it second it grinded and I could feel that I lost pressure slowly, guess theres more air in it, gonna bleed some more tommorow.

And about the shim...it said in the instructions to use the shim if you resurface the flywheel....looks like everything is working

I'll let you all know tomorrow if I get the air out....

Thank you

/Jim

Drove the car tonight, feels very good....exept that I'm loosing pressure
when I have the clutch pressed at redlights, takes about 5 sec then pressure goes down, There is NO air left in the system so I think my master is trashed as well. Ordering a new tomorrow....

when you install the new master make Sure 100% that the resevoir tube for the fluid is on the master fitting very very tightly or it will pull air into the system...
