omg- clutch chatter got WORSE!!!!!
installed the energy suspension trans mount (along with a g2 torque arm) yesterday and holy ****--- I have horrible clutch chatter.
before it was almost tolerable, just rev it up.
now, there is no escaping the chatter unless i rev somewhere over 2000 rpms---- AND IT SHAKES THE **** OUT OF THE CAR!!!!!!!! I even noticed that now my exhaust feels like its mounted with a small piece of rope, it rattles back and forth a lot now.
im actually embarrased when someone is in the car, and im sure other traffic and bystanders can see/hear/(maybe even feel) the chatter
is there anything i can do? I plan on getting the 1LE mount instead. clutch is broken in, it has 4k miles on it, it started chattering after about 800 miles, then got worse and worse as i kept modding the car

Re: omg- clutch chatter got WORSE!!!!!
thanks for the reply, looks like I will definetely get the 1LE mount, but the chatter is still pretty bad even with the stock one. To put things into perspective, I would say that my chatter is worse (maybe twice as bad) as an old wooden rollercoaster, thats jerking you around up/down and side to side.
its bad, and it drives me nuts
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO FIX CLUTCH CHATTER? I AM WILLING TO PULL THE TRANNY- ALMOST ANY MEASURE IS WORTH FIXING THIS

Re: omg- clutch chatter got WORSE!!!!!
psj, If I put in a new disk, then i cannot use the same style as the old one right? I mean if i use the same one chances are i get the same results, unless I installed it wrong- so now I ask
what could I have done to cause clutch chatter?
I greased the trans input shaft- could I have used too much? some grease may be on the disk- could that cause it?
Is it possible that the disk was missaligned? I was under the assumption that lining up the disk was solely for mounting the pp so that the trans will slide right in (which it did).
at the same time i installed the new 277 master and 145 slave, I dont think so, but could it be possible that that may have caused the chatter?
could it be something like a bad motor mount? I havent checked them, but I can see how that may cause chatter at low speed/rpm.
what other variables are there that involve clutch chatter? I want control over all of them, my car is a daily driver, and anymore, I dont think it is worthy of being driven daily <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">

Re: omg- clutch chatter got WORSE!!!!!
OK, new development, had a chance to drive my car more on the way to and from work today and I noticed that my chatter is PROBABLY NOT ALL FROM MY CLUTCH!!!!!
I couldnt believe it, if i creep into a turn with the clutch engaged in first gear, i get skipping out of my rear- just like the clutch chatter I described in my first post, when I lightly apply the gas.
If I apply a little more gas (just enough that I normally wouldnt spin) then I start doing donuts- unintentinally.
I guess the best way to describe it is "I get wheel hop when I take a turn while applying enough gas to hold speed or slightly accelerate"
So now I think i have a problem with my rear end, I have the stock auburn diff. I had problems with it making noise after I foolishly paid lube stop to change the rear end fluid, after about 800 miles, I realized what it was, and changed the fluid with the 75-90 plus 4oz of gm additive.
I can understand my posi locking up causing the car to hop as I take turns, but that means nothing for when I get the horrible chatter in a straight line. So maybe I have clutch chatter and a fubar'd rear end? or maybe just a fubar'd rear end?
anyone have any ideas?

Re: omg- clutch chatter got WORSE!!!!!
Viper, I'll send you an email when I get home.
you get wheel hop now that you put your new clutch in??? You can take a ride in my car at anytime, id like to see how yours compares to mine anyway, I have trouble distinguishing what can be causing it, but the torque arm and trans mount seemed to make it much much worse
I get it bad when i take a turn at low speed, I think its my rear end now, and it happens a few minutes after ive been driving it, like something heats up then causes it.
looks like I will have to take it in somewhere, I really dont know what it is, and doesnt look like too many on the forums know either.....
