Master Cylinder Install hang-up...
Well,
I just started installing my brand new master and I got the bolts off the metal plate that hold the master to the firewall but I cant seem to remove it. So basically I cannot access the star washers because the plate is still in the way. Anyone know of a trick on how to get it off ?
Heres what I'm talking about :

The metal plate that the red arrow is pointing to. I cant get it to budge at all and it seems like its all one big assembly but where do I start.. ?

Putting the new one in is a bitch the first time. The trick I figured out is after you put the rod through the firewall, hook it to the pedal and use the pedal to pull it tight against the firewall. If it's not lined up right, push the pedal back in a little, turn it so it lines up, and then pull it tight again. Once it's lined up the u-bolt is pretty easy if you go from both sides of the brake booster.
