Default Transimission Problem...reverse...

...recently i have had some problem shifting the car into 4 gear when im getting into the throttle. when i shift, it grinds the hell out of and i let off, put it in neutral, then it goes into 4th just fine. well, it just happened and when i get home i turned the car off, turned it back on and when i did this, my service engine soon light was on and the shifter was hard as hell to get back into reverse. i have to use both hands. this is scary and i really would like to get some ideas as to what the problem might be. thanks

Check the plug for the reverse solenoid. I have never seen the actual solenoid go bad. I have seen plug & wiring issues. Did you put a skip shift eliminator on? in the wrong plug? Lastly, your 4th issues are classic worn 3/4 shift fork relm. Do a search - there are volumes of info. on that.

It is the solenoid nearest the shifter with a black connector. The skip shift solenoid has a white connector.
