small grinding sound

small grinding sound just wondering if any one has this same problem i had a pro 5.0 shifter installed in my camaro and i hear a small grinding in the shifter that i didnt hear with my stock shifter is it normal thanks for your info.

any time you remove the stock shifter lever with that goofy rubber piece on it, you'll hear road noise coming up into the car. i guess it gets transferred in through the stick
