Default what not to do when breaking a clutch in?

like the title says, what are the main things you dont want to do and for how long? i have heard about 500 miles without shifting extremely fast and trying not to ride the clutch so long as to get it hot. also not to really romp on it for a few hundred. just wanna know what of all this is true/recommended. i know some guys dont even break them in.

one guy told me be carefun in stop and go traffic, that will heat the clutch up a lot and can be bad on a new one. but around town driving is good

stop and go traffic is fine. You really want to engage and disengage the clutch a lot, for example, accelerating normally from 1-5 gear. Just don't do any clutch dumps or powershifting and you should be fine.

downshifting in general? thats interesting i never heard that. i downshift a bit, but i rev match so i dont really see how that would hurt, just like normal driving you would think. although if you heard that maybe ill just not do it for the next 400 miles lol

Avoid slipping. I'd get at least 300 miles on it before shifting hard or before going to redline. Basically be nice to it for 300 miles. Or contact the manufacturer for breaking in instructions.

I'm always nice to mine for 500 miles just in case. After installing the clutch, you dont want to have to replace it anytime soon I'm sure.

I was told to stay out of the power range of the car for 500 miles with normal disc and 1000 miles with a metalic disc(spec4 w/ f option). Alot of shifting is what they want you to do before running the **** out of it. That is so that the disc will wear to the flywheel getting a good mating surface .

I guess you would think of the break-in as like you are carefully sanding the two pieces together so they have a better fit. So don't do anything rough.

anyone know anything about the twin disks... they alright for a street car with 500+ hp.. and moderate traffic...
