Default $500 a good qoute?

i was hoping that my mechanic would let me help him, he will but hes too busy.

so i went to another shop and told them i had the parts, and joe (sponser) was gonna rebuild the trans, i asked them if i could help (i wanna say i did it my self, and to make sure it was done right)

for them to pull the trans out, and pull teh clutch, pp, flywheel, and master and slave, out.

pull it all out on one day, then put it all back togeather another day

install the slave, master, fly wheel, clutch, pp, pilot bearing, new trans and tq arm bushing.

all in all he said aprox $500

does that sound like something i should jump on?

seams like a nice shop, very cleen (my biggest turn down is a dirty shop) nice guys, (a semi friend of mine works there, and a frield use to work there. My aunt all ways takes her cars there so....

bottom line.....$500 (aprox) a good price

That's an extremely good price for pulling it, rebuilding it and replacing it. I would do it if you trust the shop.

I would jump on that price. Around here they charge about $400 just to pull and put the tranny back in. I do not R&R them so $500 sounds great to me. I sent you a PM also. Just let me know when they pull it and I will have it picked up the same day.

Thanks,
Joe

My bad. I scanned too quickly and missed that part. It's still not a terrible deal, but not as good as I originally thought when I mis-read. I pulled mine in about 1 1/2 hrs on jackstands in my garage the other day and took my time. It took me about 2 hrs to re-install it. I imagine it won't take them 30 minutes to an hour to get it out and another hour (maybe) to put it back in. That's a hefty rate per hour, but they seem to be getting that much at most places for R&R.
