t56 questions I have a couple quick questions regarding the t-56. My buddy is swappin a t-56 from a 95 camaro into a 89 Iroc. There's a treaded hole on the left side of the trans pointing downwards in front of the the VSS almost at the top of the trans. What the hell is this hole for??
You can eliminate it if your ECM does not require it in its control logic(if you have the '89 ECM its not needed in there). It has an M20x1.5 -6G thread. Ithink you will have a difficult time finding a ready-made plug for this ( other than a plastic shipping-type plug) I suggest you either turn one from aluminum hex stock or instal the solenoid ( easiest) . BTW there is an O ring used on the solenoid and it should also be used on a fabricated plug if leak abatement is important.
