Do I have to upgrade them? Is it somthing you must do? Is that the only thing you have to upgrade? Im thinking of geting a ZO6 clutch kit.

You dont have to, its just highly recommended. GM upgraded the slave cylinder for the '01-02 year model cars.

The drill mod will probably help the 2-3 shift, either that or a good shifter.

From my understanding, the updated hydrolics in the 01-02's can handle more power and are more reliable. Its a bad feeling when the slave goes out on you and the clutch sticks to the floor and your car locks in gear. Went through it a few times.

Im sure somebody can explain it to me, there are a ton of threads about it on here, try searching and see what you come up with.

If you allready have the upgraded slave then I would say reuse them unless you are having issues now. I have the Ram hd setup on mine with stock items mentioned and have zero problems. I also did the drill mod too.

It may be enough to get by, but maybe not...the newer master and slave handle more fluid volume and the drill mod removes the restriction in the line so just doing one or the other won't net the same benefit. I would go ahead and do the master and slave (and drill mod too!) if you can.

I upgraded the master and slave on mine as well as drill modded it over 2 years ago. My Spec 3 is crapping out already (about 19K out of it) and I'm getting the LS7 clutch this week.

Just replace the master and slave, or you will be sorry 5k miles down the road when one takes a **** and you're pulling the trans to get it out. It's moreso preventative maintenance...just the smart thing to do.

The 02 Z06 clutch drives just like stock. IMO if I were doing a clutch I would go with something more aggressive that a stock clutch but I do a lot of drag racing.

From what Ive read on here ... LS6 Z06 clutch upgrade isnt worth the $$$ as it cant handle much more then stock power.

Go with an LS7 setup

IMO, an LS6 clutch can't handle stock LS1 power on a nice day at the track. Your clutch choice not only depends on your hp levels....but also how you drive the car.

You must drive like my grandma

jk. You are lucky then. My car w/ 47k on it couldn't bare one pass without slipping AND sticking to the floor by the end of the pass.

Now I have a Ram HD, billet steel FW, and the drill mod. We shall see.
