Default T-56 fluid fill

dumb question:

If I know I'm a quart low on transmission fluid, can I dump it into the reservoir under the shifter if I have it off to fix the spring? There's a hole in the bottom of the reservoir towards the back of the car that would appear to drain into the transmission.

take off the boot that bolts to the floorpan of the car.
take off the 4 bolts on each corner of the shifter.
Pull out shifter.
Add Fluid.
Reverse procedure to put it all back together

get a friend to poor the fluid in the car while you are under it with the "fill" plug out...once the fluid starts comming out of that hole tell your friends to stop and stick the plug back in...put car back together and drive!
