Default New Clutch squeaking?

I had a new clutch(along with a fidanza flywheel) put in and have been breaking it in properly, it now has 400mi, and it just started squeaking, why is it doing this?

Default explain

Explain the squeaking...Does it happen when you push the clutch in and the car is off? If you hear a squeak then it's probably not a mechanical issue probably just a little moisture or something. If you get a louder squeaking noise when you put the clutch in that continues until you put the car in gear, your pressure plate may be collapsing. Also it could be a bad pilot bearing or throwout bearing...just some thoughts.

It happens sometimes when I coming off a red light from a stop clutch pedal down and as soon as it starts to engage, squeeling. Also, I have a Fidanza Aluminum flywheel, not sure if this has anything to do with it. Could it be or normal or could it be a TO or pilot bearing?

Default Hard to tell

That is really tough to say...I mean do you notice any shaking in the clutch or chattering? If it's just squeaking it could be a pressure plate issue but on the other hand a bad TO bearing can cause squeaking issues. When was the last time you replaced your flywheel/clutch? How many miles are on it? Either way you're probably gonna need to drop the thing to diagnose the problem anyhow.

The clutch and flywheel are not even a month old, 500mi on them now.

Default probably pilot

Did you put in a new pilot bearing with the clutch and flywheel? If not I suspect the pilot bearing is proabably your cluprit.

What clutch is it? Some of them just do that, like the spec stg 5's. It could be the pilot, if so you'll want to change it asap if the needle bearings break off in there it could get bad.

It's a custom spec clutch designed by my buddy and i'm not sure if he replaced the pilot? Don't most clutches come with a pilot bearing? Will definitely have it checked out. This pressure plate has a lot of pressure but it didn't do this the first 500mi, now all of a sudden it does. And it only squeaks sometimes, not all the time off a light, very odd.

well normally the clutch doesnt come with the pilot bearing. Its back behind the flywheel, and is sometimes a pain in the ***. How many miles are on the car?

Yea that could be it. To get the pilot everything but the flywheel has to come off. I would verify to make sure he didnt already replace it though.

mine kinda does something like that, its a spec3, it has been in for over 2yrs, i would say around 40k miles on it, still grips like a $$ grubbin-bitch, but sometimes, only on 1st or reverse engaugement i get a whaa-whaa-whaa. i know it has been doing it for alittle over a year, but i have quit d/d'ing it in the last 8-9 mths, still does it every once in a while... curious also??
