What is the purpose of slider keys?

Default What is the purpose of slider keys?

What do the little slider keys do exacty?

Hypotheticly what would happen if i left them out of my tranny and drive it?

You would not be able to drive it. Those keys is what moves the slider back and forth. If you have a synchronized tranny and you leave them out it will damage the gear and the slider assembly if it would even work at all.

I dont see how they move the slider. they seem like they kind of hold the slider in a center position, but the fork moves the slider.

That is correct the fork does move the slider but the keys inside the slider keep the blocker ring from spinning. Without the keys the blocker ring would just spin and would not function.
