Hi, i was wondering if anyone has info on whats the best way to make this
work, i'd like to be able to use the bellhousing on the bbc motor i have if at
all Possible. Thanks.

If you have the bell that uses the 4 bolt "bowtie" bolt pattern to the trans, you will be better off getting the aftermarket T56 that has an adapter for that bell AND the release system that goes with it. Look for a 1386-000-011. You could convert an LS1 box but by the time you bought the adapter, input gear & guide tube( and the coversion time) you will wish had gotten a closer install match.

to mate an ls1 t56 to a non lsx block you need to machine a 3/4" spacer/adapter that goes between the bell and block
this spacer takes up the extra slack in the input shaft and allows the use of all the bolt holes in the block and the bell since the LSx trannies ahve a slightly differnt bolt pattern
