Default what is strong Ls1 t56 or LT1 borg warner

I am putting an ls1 in my Chevy II and want to run a built 6speed behind the ls1. Which is stronger, and can I use a LT1 6speed to bolt up on the ls1 block. I know for the ls1 the flywheel is different and I guess the slave/master cylinder is different too... But I guess it will not really matter as I will be having one built anyways. I guess I am wondering if they are interchangable with the ls1 motor.

Also, what are your experiences with t56rebuilds, I am thinking about getting there built cores..

Thanks Mark Tisdale

There is no difference in strenght but you can not bolt the LT1 directly to the ls1. It would require changing the input shaft, front plate and bellhousing. The LT1 has a shorter input shaft and uses a clutch fork. The ls1 uses a slave cylinder. Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Amber
