Default Wiring short. Looking for wiring schematics.

i have a 99 SS. My transmission just started getting super hard to shift into reverse, i found out the ENG SEN fuse (reverse lockout fuse) was blown big deal. Put in a new one (20 amp i believe? somebody confirm please), cranked the motor, still didnt go into reverse. Turned the car off, pulled the fuse and it was blown again . Does anybody have a wiring schematic that I can follow in an attempt to find this short? Or anybody have an experience like this and know of a popular place to short out at?

yep sure did. just installed pacesetters, ory, and catback. I didnt take any of those plugs out of the tranny, and reverse worked for about a week and a half oddly enough.

check ur front o2 sensors, when i installed my headers the d/s o2 bung was facing towards the outside of the car, and the back of the sensor was hitting the heat sheild that protects the brake lines and such, and everytime i went to go WOT, the rock of the engine would cause the (engine sens.) fuse to go out(the wires on the back of the sensor had been exposed due to the engine tilting from reving and WOT), and the car would go into limp mode, and i would have to force the tranny into reverse. i went through about 10 fuses and two sensors. then i figured i move the bung to the inside side of the header (on the d/s) just check and make sure u dont have the same problem. good luck bro

ah ok ill check that when i get out of class. Is there a chance that my headers/y-pipe could actually melt the wiring going to the tranny for the reverse lockout solenoid?
The first time reverse was hard to go into was the first time i tried reverse after the first extended drive (1+ hours).

the o2 sensors, the maf, and the reverse lockout soleniod are all on the same circuit, and fused by the (eng. sens) fuse, i doubt that the ORY/headers did anything to ur wireing on ur R-lockout soleniod, in my case it was the position of the bung, and the movement of the engine, that had caused the o2 sensor to arc to ground and thus blow the fuse. let us kno how it goes, or if u find something diffrent

edit: the fuse is a 20amp

Sorry been super busy, im in class right now dont even have time to surf the net at home. I found the short, it was the driver side o2 extension, it melted against the header :/. my routing system failed somewhere. I just electrical taped it up and ran it really far away from the header, we'll see how long that lasts. I would have expected the o2 extension to atleast have teflon, not shitty rubber /shrug.

repaired the wire, reconnected it all, replaced the fuse, everything works as intended

It all happened at the drag strip a while back, the reverse lockout went out and I thought nothing of it. So this is why it feels sluggish too. Where do I start, I need to fix this crap as soon as possible. Its been a couple of months. I replaced the fuse today, took it to the street, and it ran real good until the fuse blew again.

Just found the rear o2 sim wire (the red one) rubbing on tranny. The wire was completely exposed. I fixed that so I hope thats the problem. Could a rear o2 short cause the ENG SENS fuse to pop?
