Differences between Vette and Camaro t56s
Hey all I was wondering the difference between the corvette and camaro/trans am T56? I believe I read somewhere that the corvette uses a different bellhousing and it has a different input shaft. Also it doesn't have the open shifter at the front of the core like on a f-body t56. Are these the only differences? And if so, can a corvette t56 be used for a f-body. I am also aware of the c5 Z06 M12 t56 that has more agressive gearing and lighter/stronger forks.
The reason I am asking is because I am close in my project of dropping a ls6/t56 into my 86 Iroc-Z and was wondering the differences between the two. Regardless of either one I get I was going to ship it out to t56rebuilds and have new forks and synchronizers put in, but would also like a more agressive gearing like the z06's M12 tranny. Thanks in advance, let me know if it will work.
