Default Is my drive shaft too short? Look at pic.

Just got my ford 9 in installed and I think my drive shaft is too short. My transmission is also leaking fluid now.

Looks too short to me. It looks like it might slide out of the tranny if your suspension traveled enough.

If you've operated awhile like that I would think you have a vibe issue as well as a leaker. Since the yokes are not heat threated I would expect that yo may have work into the spline with that scant engagemnt- I would get a new yoke. You may be kucky and the rear bushing and seal is ok after you get the shaft length fixed.

It depends on much is inside the tranny. Mine looks like that as well. I have 1 3/4" visible but have over 2 1/2" inside the tranny which should be plenty. How much is inside the trans?

That looks a little short to me. When I bought my new driveshaft, I was told you want it to be 3/4" - 1" from being bottomed out against the tranny. My PST shaft is 1" longer than stock and is 3/4" from bottoming out against the tranny. Car is a M6 and has a 9" in it also. Hope that helps.
