Another SPEC prob. Maybe??!!
I just installed my spec Stage 3 + on today with the stock resurfaced flywheel did everything correctly from a how to write up. But when we went to spline the tranny into the clutch disc it went in fine but there was still a one inch gap from the tranni to the bellhousing, so i pulled it in with the bolts and i didnt really have to crank on them at all and it went right in. Buttoned everything back up started it up and it just sounds HORRIBLE like somethings grindin n chattering, i dint think it would chatter that bad. I didnt bleed the hydros yet cuz the peddle catches like 2 inches from the floor. does anything sound wrong or is it normally that F#$% loud?

I seriously doubt that this is a clutch issue...as described above...you should never pull the trans on with the bolts. If it will not slide into place (with relative ease) it is becuase something is in the way. Either the disc is not aligned, the pilot is not installed properly, or there was still pressure on the slave which kept the bearing extended. Crack the bleeder if this happens again and it should slide in without a struggle (as long as the disc is aligned and the pilot is in place). Keep in mind that since you forced it you may have bent the clutch disc. Check it out when you pull the trans...otherwise you may have issues after the re-installation. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

well im gonna try to bleed it off in a lil here and ill see if that does any thing, cuz yes when we were puttin the tranni back in my buddy snapped the fitting off the slave for the hydros, so it was disconnected when we slid the tranni in and im thinkin thats y it didnt go in well cuz of the pressure.

If you hear a sound with the pedal depressed it isn't chatter or clatter. Chatter is only audible when you are releasing the clutch pedal and engaging the clutch. This would be most evident when leaving from a stopped position. Clatter, or gear noise would be heard when the pedal is out. Depressing the pedal loads the system and thus would eliminate the potential for this to be clatter. That being said, hearing noise with the pedal depressed is not normal. You really need to check it out...let us know what you find. Thanks!

Typically a slave that is on the way out will do one of a few things. It will either leak fluid (which will be evidenced by a lack of fluid in the reservior) or it will cause inconsistent pedal stiffness and varying engagement point. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

"Another SPEC Problem"?! To the OP: You're a ******* moron. Stop working on your own car; you're too stupid to do anything right. Bad mouth a company, then when they come on and help you don't thank them or apologize for your stupidity.
Yeah, one that was written for people with IQ's over 65.
What an idiot.
did everything correctly from a how to write up.

Hey it could of been my fault yes i should of worded it diff. srry n thankx, but neways i pulled it out n nothing was wrong at all i took the shim out too, to get more pedal

Nasty...If you removed the shim then you will effectively lower the engagement point. This is contradictory to your initial post where you referenced the pedal being about 2" off the floor. I will bet that your pedal is now even lower. If it isn't then there is something happening hydraulicly. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!

Yea im having trouble now, i got it all back together and bled it until the fresh fluid is coming out of the bleeder and still no pedal, so i guess the shim is goin in if thats the prob. haha damn.
