That was if you were looking to put an ls1 t56 with an lt1 or an lt1 t56 into an ls1

One thing, a friend told me is (he has a lq4 6.0 not sure if its same or not but something to check) there is a spacer back there that changes where the flywheel is. He had to remove that to work with his starter correctly. Had to completely remove the trans again

the 99-00 6.0L motors had a 1/2" to 3/4" of extra material on the back of the crank only allowing it to work with the 4l80e, 01 and after it was the normal crank and could utilize the 4l60 or t56. I am currently trying to find out if this is the same story with the 5.3 or not as I am looking at the lm7's... I would think not since these motors came in the 1/2 ton trucks with a 4l60 or 4l65, but if anyone knows for sure whether there is a certain year or years where the t56 would not just bolt to the 5.3 please let me know.

I just finished putting a 1999 T56 behind my 2003 5.3l and ran into one snag. You need a Pilot BUSHING, not a pilot bearing, there is a big difference. The bushing can be had at Napa, carquest wherever for about $4. Other than that one hang up, the swap is super easy and it should go together easy for you.
Good luck.
