Default Am I in trouble?

I pulled the upper console off while I was Installing my wideband. When I did, I noticed some fluid in the base of my Pro-5.0. Anybody know why? I already did a search and found nothing. Thanks, Rob.

Yep, detention for sure!

What kind of fluid and where exactly was it? There shouldn't be any trans fluid on the outside of your shifter if that's what you mean. If it leaks at the base of the shifter all you need to do is pull the shifter off, clean the seal surface, lay a bead of sealant and bolt it back up.

So its on the outside of the shifter? If so like stated above remove your shifter and put some sealant down

It was on top of the base, under the stop bolt. It was just a little. I didn't think there should be any there though. The one thing I thought of was that I had a local shop install a clutch. Could it have happened while tipping the tranny during the install?

When I've done my clutches I catch the fluid that leaks out and later pour it back into the top where the shifter goes. Maybe they spilled a little. Who knows? Wipe it off and keep an eye on it. If you don't see more, no worries.
