broken tailhousing where the torque arm mounts to the tranny!
I was just wondering if any1 has ever came across something like this... i just had my tranny rebuilt.. and when the top bolt for the torque arm mount goes into the tranny is broken.. a chunk is gome from it.. the bolt threaded back in but is not going to be able to withstand any abuse.. just wondering if any1 has came across this.. and was wondering if there is any solutions other than buying a new tailhousing..

I know vendors like UMI sells a relocation kit that can be used with the stock torque arm. It replaces the stock trans crossmember and has the torque arm bolt to that rether than the trans.

Or if you're still running the stock torque arm you could upgrade to either the UMI or Spohn chassis mounted torque arms. Heres a pic of the spohn: http://www.spohn.net/prodimages/1020.jpg and heres the UMI: http://www.umiperformance.com/images/2202.jpg
Both will bolt right up and eliminate the need to mount the torque arm to the transmission.

To be honest, I really don't know about that. I wouldn't think they would make the car ride any stiffer, that would be up the the spring/shock combo.
They will transfer a bit more noise into the car, especially if you go with a solid end vs. the poly bushing. Other than that, the only side effect is better traction
