Where to get a metal clutch alignment tool?

Default Where to get a metal clutch alignment tool?

I need to install a clutch and Im wondering if anyone knows where I can get a metal not plastic clutch alignment tool .. Also who has the best quality throw out bearing and bushing? Should i jus get one from the dealer? The clutch I have didnt come with anything its used.

I have an old imput shaft that I use as an alignment tool. I dont know of anywhere that actually sells a standard tool in metal.

My local Autozone sold an alignment kit. Came with a bunch of different sizes, worked out great. As for the TOB I would just get a 01-02 Slave. That way you have a new slave with a new TOB. And the piolet bushing/bearing is up to you, the bushing is what most people use since the bearing can come appart. I would just get either one at your parts store.

How much would you pay for one? I just got a lathe & a mill, and this type of tool seems like a nice project to build, as I've had this complaint before also (I hate those stupid plastic tools, they don't work anywhere nearly as well as a real input shaft). Not too complicated (other than indexing the angles for the spline cuts), and it could probably be made from aluminum quickly and inexpensively (no need for a 'ton' of durability for a hobbyist tool).

I'm just curious, I may build one in the future just to see if I can.

I've seen them in Bruce's Speed shop (NJ), but I don't recall the brand name.. They were like $19 IIRC..

got mine at baxters its a universal aligntment tool and it worked perfect and was only 25 bucks
