Default IL & MI members...how's the weather?

I work in an Internet Operations Center and we're getting TONS of sites faulting due to power issues in and around these two areas? What's going on up/over there?

Chicago has been in 95+ degree weather for a couple days now. Dew points in the mid-70s or higher.

It's bad.

As I type this a storm is moving into the area that's supposed to "cool" things down to the mid-80s tomorrow. LOL.

Probably because of everyones A/C being on and using so much power. It is in the high 90`s here with the heat index above 100. Sounds like great summer weather to me, but it does hurt performance.

Off Topic.....

Hey G-body, I like your Avatar. I work for a large Pharma corporation, years ago someone passed a full-sized flyer version of that around at work. I still keep a copy in my desk. Just a friendly stress relief on a bad day. The first time I saw that I laughed for a week.

I may have to change my Avatar.

I um "borrowed" it from a guy on another forum. I saw it and had to have it, I am a pharmacy student so I figured it fits. What company do you work for? Are you in research, sales, legal??

I work for Watson Pharma, Inc. at the Midwest Distrubition Center. I'm an Operations Department Lead these days; used to be a QA Inspector when I started. Been working there for over 7 years now. Comes with typically long hours and a good amount of stress at times....but hey, what job doesn't?

Overall, pharma is a good industry to be in though.

It was 99 here today and it's been +95 for the last 3 days and supposed to be for the next 3 as well. We just got a big string of outages in the last 3 hours all at once. And per www.intellicast.com, the weather doesn't look too friendly.

HOT!!! There was a heavy storm that rolled through last night (monday) that cooled it down some, but I work construction and it has been rough out on the job site.
