Chicagoland emmissions stations
I have to go in for emmissions next summer and I am wondring what I should do? I am running long tubes with 3" true duals that dump before the axle. No CAT's. There are no faults in the ECM and readiness is all set. What kind of luck have you guys had when going through. Did anyone look under the car? If they did what happened, did they just fail you or did they fine you? Last time I went all they did was a scan and sent me on my way, but this was before I got rid of the CAT's, and my exhaust went all the way back to the rear bumper. Anyone know of any specific stations I should stay away from, best day to go, best time?

Passed in Elk Grove with no cats and loud as hell. I recommend going on a busy Saturday. If its a slow day they might take a little more interest in your car, which you dont want.

I'm more up north Lake Zurich Area, I have true duals ota and they just plugged it in to the OBD II, actually the kid working was like "what do you have done" he's like thats pretty sweet, and this emission crap blows. I was like I'm coming to you everytime!

I have pacesetter long tubes with secondary air provisions, but they are still considered off road. Technically all long tube headers aren't street legal because they put the converters further back from the motor thus not allowing them to heat up fast enough. So even if you have CAT's after the long tubes it's still considered an off road exhaust.
