This guy claims it's bone stock running 13.6s at 104mph so they are not slow by any means considering what they are, but are no match for a modded LSx C5 unless they are decently modded themselves.

Thats a bolt on only LS1? Those Cobalts are no jokes. Now what was up with the second vid? You pulled like a bat outta hell on him. Top of second gear I assume?

I own a 2009 cobalt ss and its quick, i havent had a chance to run it at the track yet but a 13.6 1/4 stated above feels about accurate. But anyone who drives one realizes they are fast yes, but seem to built more for the twisties. They have corner speed far superior to most sports cars ive driven, nothing a moderatly modded F-body could keep up with down a curvy road. Its a shame such an amazing car gets rated so often on straight line races.

An F-body with a lowering kit and thicker sway bars wouldnt really stand much of a chance. It would take alot of money in mods for an F-body to keep up with the SS. It would take an F-body car preped for an competative SCCA race most likley. Just watch the video of the SS doing a 8'22'' lap at the nurburgring. The LS9 ZR1 vette does it in 7'40'' with 2.5 times the horsepower and tires twice as wide.

Stock for stock the LS1 wouldn't be able to take the cobalt on a road race track. Just the way they were designed. I would say a modded LS1 with suspension parts would take a stock balt though on a road course. Also remember they are completely different classes.

I heart this thread
especially since i also have a kill on here (without vid) of me pullin on a 94 vette
and i ran a 14.3 @ a 104 in mine.
crappy *** FWD launching
its def a mean *** roll car.
cars that out launch them in the mid 13's will get pulled from a roll.
