Almost hit a deer at the track yesterday.. I went racing at a local track yesterday. Ran like crap, no traction, they wouldn't put any sticky down as most of the cars running were on street tires.. Anyways won first round, 2nd round I'm up against a faster car so I leave first, just past the 1/8 mile I see a deer run across the track just after the 1/4 mile mark, I stay in it as I see the guy coming, look again and there is another one(I'm in the left lane). Now it's stay in it, possibly hit the deer and win, or save the car and lose. Of course I hit the skids as the deer was in my lane(not his) and didn't miss it by much. So I figure I would get to run this guy again since the deer played a role in my loss.. At first they told me tough luck you lose, we can't help a couple deer ran in front of you. Then they changed their mind and had me run someone else and I lost.. I was late on the light, almost caught him, my front bumper was at his front tire when he went through the lights. Was hoping he broke out, but he didn't. Best run today was a 13.11@108, best 60' was a 2.28.. Best E.T. to date is a 12.63@111. Vid below is my loss to the truck.. Still had a blast!!!
Here's vid of the car I was racing when the deer came out. My buddy shut off the vid right as the announcer was talking about deer on the track. I had the guy till I had to hit the skids!!
