Negative. The newer 600's, from 01+ are no joke, low 11 sec bikes, and potentially 10's w/a great rider.

To put it in perspective, I ran a buddy of mine on my 03 GSX-R 600 vs. his N/A 396 T/A which made 480ish RWHP and similar torque, the bike lifted going into second and his words were 'I thought you were going to pass me doing a wheelie'. It pulled pretty quick, he had the jump, but the space between us minimized fast, and I shut down when it lifted that hard tho, and he runs 11.3's w/minimal seat time.

EDIT: I'm a avg. rider, nothing more, nothing less

Running from a way higher speed helps, like a 70 -75mph roll and it would be alot closer. I know for a fact that they can be beat with a big H/C combo from those speeds even on the newer bikes. That is pressing the limit though because you'll be looking to go pretty damn fast but not bad though.

With a good rider, you're not beating a newer 600 with H/C, unless you have Patrick G's 500 RWHP H/C etc.

I didn't say it was a given, but those bikes can be beaten. You pull up to a moderate rider, then you have a chance. No where in my post did I say it was a given but would not have pulled as much atleast.
