Wohoo I bought my first LS1 Fbody
Just bought my first LSx fbody.
Car is a 1998 Camaro Z28 LS1/M6 with 144,xxx miles. Its got a SLP UltraZ hood, BMR strut tower brace, SLP loudmouth, Hurst short throw shifter, Spec clutch, and a skip shift eliminator.
Needs new rear brakes, front seats, dash pad, some paint(hood and bumper), window motor, allot of cleaning, and a bunch of other odds and ends.
The only thing that really has me puzzled at the moment is when driving the ride seems kinda rough at times. Its hard to explain, and I'm not sure if its normal or not as I cant remember the last time I was in a forth gen. I'll have to get some more time in it, to give a better description and maybe a video or something. Other than that the car seems to run fine, and pulls hard.
My other dilemma is that, Ive been searching for a cheap LS1 Fbody for the past 4 months to put its drivetrain in the IROC and I'm not sure if I want to do that to this car. All I know is I'm going to clean the heck out of it, do the rear brakes, a tune up and enjoy the car for a bit.

Pull the driveline and do the swap. That would be sweet in your 3rd gen. That 4th gen looks really rough, it may have more gremlins in it. How was the title, clean? Salvaged? Nice deal though for an LS1 nontheless.

Thanks for all the compliments and feedback guys.
I pulled out the seats yesterday and it looked like the car hadn’t been cleaned in about ten years. I spent a couple hours cleaning the heck out of it, and here are some before and after pics. Not to bad, but still needs some work.

Not bad I feel, jus depends on how far u want to go wit it. I jus bought a 02 z conv. And it handles amazing. I used to own an 87 iroc and by far the new z is way more car. Jus get it run'n tip top and play wit it and you'll probably keep it. Good luck and keep us updated.
