G35 coupe with built ls1 and built 4l60
Hey guys I have a 03 G35 5at coupe with all the bolt ons and aps single turbo kit with zex nitrous the whole car is completly modified from the ps2 tvs, system and all the little ricer **** lol. I decided that the v6 needs to go (not enought power) so my friend is going to build me a built ls1 cams, pistons, rods, heads ported and polished with a custom 76mm garrett single turbo (hooking up the zex with it also) and a fully built 4l60 with a shift kit and a 3500 stall. My only concern is do you think the 4l60 is good enough for the type of power i'll be putting down or should i go a different route with the trans from what my friend said I should be in the low 11 with DR. Any information would be appriciated and if your worried about if my friend knows what hes doing hes a tech at a performance shop and has done a bunch of ls1 swaps.

Lol I really don't know much about ls1's I was just hoping to learn more and see if my friend is going about the right way with the build so what kind of rear end would u recomend and do u think the trans will be sufficient for the power the car will produce or will I blow my trans right away so u don't think my car will be capable of 11's I know it depends on the driver and car just wondering any constructive critism would be appreciated

If you're going to be swapping an LS1 and GM transmission into a G35 (and more than likely some sort of solid rear axle, or at least a much stronger IRS setup), not knowing how much power a stock 4L60E can handle and having a buddy who thinks a "built" turbo LS1 in a G35 is only going to be good for 11s on DRs is probably a clue that you shouldn't be trying it.

He said it SHOULD be ok im like what does should mean? I already gave him 8K and the remainder is 5500 when hes done with the job so in total 13500 shouldn't that be enough to do the rear end as well as the trans and engine?

Ignorance is bliss -_- Sounds like you don't know a damn thing about cars and are just throwing money at him to build this car. No way in hell that stock rear is going to handle that much power. If that motor is built right you should be in the 10's at least with a proper stall / suspension setup.
Also try using punctuation when you post dude.... typing like that is going to **** people off and no one will bother reading your posts to help you.

Man for 13,5K you could just buy a built Camaro or TA that runs 11s and still have your G for a DD, no wasted time on custom parts, swapping, etc. Usually swaps like that dont end up being DD friendly. Just my 2 cents...
BTW, You got pics of this thing as it sits or are you a member on any Infiniti forums?
