Default LS1 LS6 crank

Are the LS1 and LS6 cranks the same? I just bought a 98 Trans Am and have access to an LS6 block. Everything I have seen in looking for a crankshaft leads me to believe that they have the same crank (other than the reluctor wheel). Is this the case?

I think they are the same. From what i understand the ls6 block and ls1 block are almost the same also. I could be wrong though. Also a lot of 01/02 f bodys came with the ls6 block. Is there something wrong with the block in the car?

False. This is not true. I have yet to see proof of this.

Kenny......... No there is nothing wrong with my block other than me wanting to be able to drive the car while building a motor for it. Believe it or not that car in the picture has 231,900 miles on the original motor and doesn't run bad or use a drop of oil. I just think it's time to put some new and bigger horsepower in it.

Actually it is true. Just the block, not the rest of the motor.

As far as the crank goes, I'm 99.99% sure they are the identical.

LS6 block in Fbody: Look at the two bullseyes that are missing from the LS6 block. Also part numbers correspond.
EDIT: can't post the pics.

I stand corrected. Sorry guys. After a little research it seems the LS6 block was used in some f bodies. From my understanding though the internals are ls1. The cranks are almost identical but the heads and cams are LS1 specific.
