Default Going to pick up 00 Z28 in few hours...

GF is getting another Ls1 for her DD. She totaled her 00 Trans Am a couple years back (Hydroplaned at 65mph on the interstate, 100% not her fault tires were bad). She has been DYING to get back into an ls1 since she has had a 97 3.8 camaro since then.
Mods on old car
SLP headers/ORY cutout stock exhaust
373 gears
ls6 cam
ls6 intake
C5Zo6 rims
3200 converter
Few other small things... It was black, I had bought an OEM Ws6 hood for her Christmas present because she hated the look without it and loved mine... She wrecked around 2 weeks before Christmas.

Plans for the new Z28? It will be a budget build but have parts that work together so should be decent.

First thing will be a 100% thorough clean up/maintenance... All filters/fluids/wires/plugs/etc etc etc.. Engine bay/interior/bottom/etc etc etc cleaned.

Performance:
ls6 intake/ported TB/lid/ram air
LTs/flowmaster merge/cutout/magnaflow
342 gears (pull out from an M6)
Custom grind sleeper cam.. Looking for more power with extremely little/no lope
Have not decided about heads.. Might send them off to AI for their 500$ port job... Should be a solid 20Rwhp gain or so
UDP
PTC 3400 converter
catch can
Nitrous..... Ok, this may be something I add one weekend without her knowing...... She will use it either way.
BMR lowering springs
front/rear shocks
LCA
LCA relocation
sub frames
rear end girdle
I'm sure a few things are going to be added here and there and I probably left a few out but thats the main things

Cosmetic:
Converting the interior to Ebony Trans am
LEDs on interior
Hood... Planning on th
black housing/clear lens side markers and turn signals
!side molding
!fender emblems (adding 1969 emblems)
Berger mod
She has not decided on a grill yet.. Thinking SLP but still in air
HID kit for lows/fogs
Whistler mod headlights
Will receive a retro fit projector for lows
corsa clones
Rims... WAY up in the air.. From chrome Zr1s to RPM r505s
coil relocation
shorty attena
hiding/relocating wires/grounds/etc in engine bay
There is more here and there but that is the main stuff

Nothing in my list was in number of the order she has planned

Just to clarify... This is 100% her car in every way imaginable. She is paying for it, she is insuring it, it will all be 100% in her name. She will buy the majority of the mods (I obviously already have a few things I'm giving her and a few hooks ups on some parts that buddies have) besides ones I might buy as a gift for Vday/Christmas/etc.. She is deciding 100% what mods she wants/doesn't want and will be there turning the wrenches with me!

You *** holes can ask her yourself for pictures...

Trying to figure out the approach on this still.

If I can find used pewter Z28/SS pieces, they will come off real quick.. Otherwise they might be staying on for a bit.

With buying this... A new house... And my new short block coming soon, I got a LOT going on!!!

One thing I always hated was the mutton-chops. I completely understand about being busy... It's killing me that I have ALL the parts for my car, yet I can't put them on it, because I'm still so far away, and got a TON going on... :/

If I read that right, it currently has LT headers, ORY and stock muffler? If so, you should post up a sound clip. I need to decide if I should keep my stock muffler and get a cut out, or get a new muffler.
Thanks and congrats!

+1.

I was victim to losing a car due to bad tires (bald DR's in my case) and I will never do that again. Though my new car has DR's on it again, but this time im not going to try to push 15k out of them...

Anyway good luck with the new car.

Thanks and congrats!
The stock muffler and cut out is a sleeper sounding exhaust. If you want something that has better tone and power with the cut out closed get some type of cat back.

Congrats on the ride

When we got there we were shocked at the condition of the vehicle, for the price we were not expecting much at all.. The guy said if we saw it we would buy it, he was right. Deal of the century!

Without a doubt man.. She couldn't stop grinning, ear to ear.

Its coming.. I just purchased my new short block. After that I still need the top end and cam. Few other small things here and there.. Hopefully she will be ready within 3 months time, we will see about that. Should be a bit nastier than the last build though, not too much but just enough.

Thanks man!

Yes she is... Last night she did the TB bypass and cleaned the TB up quite a bit and polished the sensor on the side. Cleaned up the inside, engine bay, replaced a burnt bulb, installed the new lid, etc etc...
Tonight she polished some AC pieces, I polished the ABS lines while she did that, cleaned the windows... Etc..

This upcoming weekend we are going to finish wet sanding and polishing the headlights so they look brand new, paint the berger panel, change the fluids plugs etc, and I'm sure several other things while we are at it.
Tax time looks like its going to be pretty good this year so headers/FM merge/magnaflow will be coming in a few weeks along with a few other things. The stock exhaust kills her.

I believe she is going to go with a set of RPM R-505s.. Haven't talked too much about it yet. Will probably buy a set whenever she sells the 3.8 camaro.

Thanks and congrats!
Her old Black Trans Am has LTs/ORY/cutout/stock exhaust.

With the cutout closed is sounded extremely close to stock... Only a trained ear would tell that it had something done.
Personally, I despise cutouts.. The tone sucks and rasp is stupid bad. Once anyone has a nice exhaust setup, they will agree... Until then most like a cutout.
Guy had LTs/ORY/stock muffler and an Ms4 cam.. You could hardly tell it had a cam in there, it was a louder than stock but not too much. Sounded like *** however.

Of course. We actually planned on getting new tires that next week...... We were a few days behind.
I like this car a LOT more than her old one though.
