In the works...

Were going to swap the 3rd brake light with the other camaro (the one on the Z is tinted).. Buying a set of side markers and turn signals this week.. The tails on the other camaro are cracked up and what not so we will have the buy some different tails.

I believe the grill she wants is either an SLP or possible just pulling the black piece out and having the holes filled and repaint.. Both look very good IMO.

Berger mod
!wire mod
!hood latch cable
relocated and extended TCS/TC box behind computer
Valve cover breather
Polished a few more ABS lines as well as some more on the AC parts
Swapped the 3rd brake light for the stock one
Swapped console lids (one in the new Z was broke and she had just bought a good one for the 3.8 a few weeks ago)
!AIR
Might have forgot a small thing or two but that was it IIRC...

Just figured I would give a small update.. I will take some pictures tomorrow probably and post them up with all the changes that have happened so far, it has rained every day since the day we got the car... Changing appearance rather quickly.
I think we just found a complete ebony camaro leather seat set... Waiting to hear back from him, if we can lock a deal down we will go get those Sunday and put them in.

Have you guys looked into the 6LE grills at all? We put a black billet one on my buddy's '00 SS with a blue bowtie and it looks amazing.

They are a bit overpriced IMO.. I think its going to be a billet grill with a '69 Z emblem.

Few picture updates... Pics are a little crappy since I rushed and taken from phone but you will get the idea..

Just an overall pic of where the work is being done!

Engine bay:
BEFORE

AFTER

HID fogs 35w 6K

Berger panel mod

Condition of the paint.. There is ZERO wax/etc on this.. It has a ton of potential after I spend some time on it. Paint is in excellent condition.

Things to be done in the next few days/about to be bought/bought and waiting to arrive:

Low beam 35w 6K HIDs
FAST fuel rails
Swapping seats for a full set of black leather camaro seats
Billet grill with '69 Z28 emblem
!side molding
!Z28 fender emblems (already gone from the back berger panel)
Rear heater hose mod

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things but that is what is coming to mind.

What are you using to polish the aluminum lines under the hood?

I'm about half way done with it (you can see I only have them done about half way up.. I literally have MAYBE spent 20 minutes total on them, I wanted to see what they looked like with a half *** job and they actually turned out very good.. They aren't mirror but 90% of the people on here would be fine with them. Spend an hour on them and you will have a perfect mirror shine.
I'm going to do the ABS block as well, that is waiting for tools however.

In the pics it was:
Wet Sand: 800/1500/2000
Polish with whatever polish you want.. I'm using Mothers Mag/aluminum Polish..

It was by hand but honestly it isn't that bad. The AC condenser is much more of a PITA.. I will be buying a few new tools/equipment to tackle it and a few other things in the bay....... And it gives me a reason to buy new ****!
I have no idea why I have not done it to my Trans Am a long time ago. Extremely easy mod that really make the bay look better. My ABS will be removed with the new setup however so no worries with that.

Congrats you two on her new car! It's great having a gal that digs this stuff isn't it . Looks real good so far! How hard is it for those hids (fog/low b)? Costly? I like how they look and the mod list looks well setup and thought out .

Hey btw, if you two have (or will have) a baby, I vote "Lemon drop"! Lol j/k. Congrats again and thanks for updating us with mods/pics. Always fun to see people's hard work in progress and especially the finish.

Thanks man! Yes, it is pretty sweet. Its nice to talk cars with her and both of us be on the same page.

The fogs and lows were both 32$ shipped... For the TA you have to get either a retrofit for the lows (this is the route I suggest) or a converion housing. This route costs anywhere between 40-400$ depending on how awesome of a setup you want. I have around 210$ in my lows which includes the HID kit (mine are projectors.
For the camaro everything is 100% plug and play. You buy an 880 kit for the fogs (same for TA) and you buy a 9006 kit for the lows. I hooked the fogs up in about 4 minutes. If you can change a bulb you can install an HID kit, honestly.

PM me if you are interested and I will give you some more detailed info if you want to do it.

HAHA, no kids for a while but I will take that into consideration!!

Interior isn't much to look at right now... But yes.

Sunday we are picking up a complete front/rear seat set from an 02 Camaro, black seats.
Me and another buddy of mine have a ton of interior panels already that we can swap out.. After that we just need carpet and hood liner.

Other than that probably nothing big. We like the motto "less is more" on most things. I won't even put an aftermarket CD player in my TA for this reason. Sometimes things that are BONE stock but in perfect condition look better than modded things.
Will be adding a 6 disc changer my buddy gave me while hanging at the shop the other day.

I haven't talked to her yet but will probably replace all the interior lights with LEDs and add some courtesy lights under the dash, I think that looks clean.

The low beam HIDs came in, about to go throw those in along with the relay..... Then off to see how it runs against a 2000 Z28... He has Full exhaust/ported TB on us, should be a good run though.

They are base model C5 wagon wheels. Honestly, I thought I was going to hate them and they don't look nearly as bad in person as in pics... Especially when they are moving. She hates them.

I think she is planning on some RPM R505s... Same rims that are in the pic in my sig, color and all. 295s in the rear..

We took it out and had some fun tonight... Car runs extremely well. I knew it did but didn't expect it to run quite as good as it does.

Well... I just got a cool little surprise. I have no idea why I didn't check this the day we bought the car. It crossed my mind however... I just went out to the garage and looked at the passenger side head (one reason was because of how the race went earlier). It seems this 2000 Z28 came with 241 heads stock.

Going back out right now to pull a valve cover.. I would love to see some yellow springs!
