I just picked up an 04 gto a few days back and have been having no issues with it until yesterday when it over heated and doesnt want to start like it should. i replaced the thermostat but now the temp guage isnt working. can anyone tell me where that plugs into so i can check it out. thx

The temp guage should be on the front of the drivers side cylinder head. as far as your statement of it overheated and dont want to start,, that sounds bad, real bad. I hope you didnt run it hot, you could have done some very serious damage, head gaskets, heads, block etc..

I wasnt racing it or anything. just driving around town and i pulled over and turned it off as soon as the temp jumped. and while going over it today i found that the cooling fans were not turning on. hence over heating at low speeds. but i havnt run it hard since i bought it. would replacing the sensor be a good first step to see if that fixes it?
