Name this hose!
I recently noticed that I had a snapped hose hanging in the back right side of my car. I noticed that this hose goes into the rear right valve cover see pics. Can anyone name this hose and where it connects to?? Is this some kind of vac leak??

No in 98 it didn't run to the air box. That hose runs to the AIR pump I think. The Air pump is that thing that sounds like a fan when you start up your car and it stays on for about 3ish mins. I think it warms up your cats or something. I might be wrong but thats what I always thought it was. I also think most people get rid or it when they run headers with an Off road Y pipe.

Ok......The A.I.R. system runs hoses from the airpump and inject it to your exhaust manifolds....considering thats your valvecover , thats a No.
Its your Pcv system hose. starts on the front of intake , pass side , behind the TB. from there it goes down to the Pass side Valve cover at the rear, then crosses over to the Drivers side around the back to the point that you see broken in the pictures. And yes its a vacuum leak.

Thanks trickrtreat for the real good info... and thanks my6speedZ for the legit write up. Man that is a solid method.. the stupid OEM pcv hose kit is like 135 dollars on ebay.. total rip off. Your method will last much longer too. good stuff!
