New EVO vs. SS ?? Who would win?
I have a race tonight and I'm going up again a EVO with an upgraded turbo and I think full exhaust... I have full exhaust, which includes, Jet Hot Longtubes, no cats, no muffler, with a SLP Loudmouth. SLP Lid, MAF, and I just put my cam in with 3.73 gears as well... Anyways, who do you think has the upper hand in this race? This guy says he's going to take my money tonight so....whatcha guys think...

upgraded turbo? Careful, you might be in trouble... depending on how big of a turbo he's running. You should be pretty good though, considering your cam.

He's going to eat your lunch off the line. The rest depends on his mods.

what tire you running???
look big turbo or not a cammed ls1 with full bolt ons should make little work of this guy...
have him pop his hood check for nitrouse... if he sprays you he might have a shot... but without it then big turbos dont spool fast and when it finnally does he has lost his off the line advantage then does that big turbo make ENOUGH hp to catch a cammed ls1?
if you dont spin bad (get enough tire) then you'll hand him his **** and take his cash....
be safe ok?

If you *know how to drive* I'd put my money on you.
He'll definitely pull you for the first few yards(I hear they can cut 1.8 60' stock).After the launch I am almost certain you'll walk away clean.

The problem I see is that the mods you listed on your car are all power adders. Nothing in there for suspension/traction/tires. I would easily bet money that you are making a lot more power and have the 'faster' car. But are you 'quicker'? A stock EVO probably runs mid to low 13s.
If you can get that power to the ground without spinning, you should be able to win. But I wouldn't doubt that this will be a close race. How much $$$ is wagered?

honestly i think an evo running 13.00 stock is ive seen em run and it would be a rare thing to see one going 13.00 the conditions would have to be perfect the driver would have to be perfect and whats the chances of that happening.

How well he launches depends on how much he's willing to let it hang out. The Evo, WRX, and STi all need high RPM clutch dumps to get a good launch. Anything less and they just bog off the line and are slow to get into their boost powerband. Bottom line is, very few people are willing to launch them the way they NEED to be launched to get the one advantage they have.

no, i was just posting what a magazine said it tested it as, jeez, i all Camaro, a kid at my school brags about the Evo he doesn't have, i want all Evo's and WRX's owned...
